Dear Colleagues,
I am happy to provide you with a finalized compilation of all the Proposed Resolutions, Proposed Amendments to the DCCFA Bylaws, and Proposed Amendments to the DCCFA Constitution 2020-2021 submitting during the November 13th convention. Many thanks to Dr. Jennifer Hudson-Allen and Dr. Nathaniel Means for their work in compiling these resolutions. After reviewing these, please complete our confidential DCCFA Convention Resolutions survey to provide your opinions on these resolutions, as well as some proposed bylaw and constitutional amendments to be addressed at a future convention.
As you know, over the past two weeks, we have been all working with several serious issues related to faculty schedules for Spring 2021. Although we had initially targeted Friday, December 4, to finalize the initial votes on the initially submitted 19 amendments, after consulting with the faculty council and other association members, we have delayed the follow-up convention until Friday, February 5, 2021. The deadline to submit bylaw or constitutional amendments is January 6, 2021. (We realize this date falls within the winter break period, but this does comply with the policy of receiving bylaw and constitutional amendments within 28 days or one month in advance of the convention meeting.)
The DCCFA appreciates all the support, feedback, and assistance we have received from members over the last several weeks. We understand faculty are under an immense amount of stress at this time. We also want to thank Jennifer Allen and Nathaniel Means for reorganizing and reformatting the numerous resolutions, including the new proposed amendments to our bylaws and constitution, into one comprehensive document.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
