UPDATE: THERE WILL NOT BE A CONVENTION ON DEC. 4. THE CONVENTION WILL CONVENE ON FEB. 5, 2021. Some DCCFA Faculty Council Members Call to Convene a Second General Convention at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2020

NOVEMBER 25 UPDATE: THERE WILL NOT BE A DEC. 4 CONVENTION. THE CONVENTION WILL CONVENE ON FEB 5, 2021.

In accordance with Article XIV of the DCCFA Constitution, which allows "any three members of the Council" to request a general convention, and upon the recommendation of DCCFA Parliamentarian Nathaniel Means, the DCCFA will conduct a general convention, tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, via a virtual platform to be determined.

The purpose of this Dec. 4 convention will be entertain, discuss, and debate, resolutions that had been offered but were not acted upon during the Nov. 13 convention, due to the expiration of time, the unprecedented circumstances surrounding conducting the convention virtually, and the complaints from some attendees regarding issues with the technology.

So that proposed resolutions may be published for all members to review in advance of the convention, DCCFA Secretary Jennifer Allen has set a deadline of 11:59 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, for any additional proposed resolutions to be offered. The Faculty Council supports, and will enforce, this deadline. Any additional proposed resolutions must be submitted via email to dccfa@dcccd.edu. (Resolutions previously submitted for the Nov. 13 convention are considered "submitted" for the Dec. 4 convention.)

Further details regarding this Dec. 4 general convention will be shared with the membership as they become available.

Per Article XIV of the DCCFA Constitution, no proposed amendments to the DCCFA Constitution will be entertained, due to the prior notification deadline having passed.

Per Article XII of the DCCFA Bylaws, no proposed amendments to the DCCFA Bylaws will be entertained, due to the prior notification deadline having passed.

The Faculty Council thanks its members for their patience and grace during these unprecedented and difficult circumstances.
