El Centro Faculty Association to Host 2020 Dallas College Board of Trustees Candidate Forum, 12 noon Thursday, Oct. 8, via WebEx

To support the goal of the DCCFA Political Information Committee to inform voters, the El Centro Faculty Association plans to host the 2020 Dallas College Board of Trustees Candidate Forum at 12 noon Thursday, Oct. 8, via WebEx.

All faculty and all members of the public are invited to "attend" the forum via this WebEx link.

The two seats up for election are Place 5, which covers much of southwest Dallas County, including parts of southwest Dallas, Grand Prairie, and south Irving; and Place 6, which includes portions of East Dallas, the Cedars, West Dallas, and Northwest Dallas.

This election for these two Trustee seats was to have taken place in May 2020. However, due to the COVD-19 pandemic, the election was postponed to coincide with the Fall 2020 general election.

The three candidates for District 5 are as follows:

Cliff Boyd

Dinesh Mali

William Wesley Jameson (incumbent)

The two candidates for District 6 are as follows:

Angela Enciso

Diana Flores (incumbent)

The candidates' filing documents can be found at this link on the Dallas College Board Elections web site.

If you live in Dallas County, you can click on this link to determine in which Dallas College Trustee district you live, and thus determine if you can vote in one of these two races.

The DCCFA Political Information Committee has sent questionnaires to all five candidates. The Advance Blog will publish candidate responses as they are received.

September 8 Update on IncludED Project

As many faculty are aware, the DCCCD IncludED project has successfully provisioned textbooks and other learning materials to a majority of our students. At the same time, there have been numerous challenges, some of which were anticipated and some of which were not anticipated, resulting in many students not being provisioned with their learning materials as had been promised.

Following a change in leadership of the IncludED project, there is now a larger team of staff who are now answering inquiries from both faculty and staff, in a timely manner, and who are empowered to escalate issues to the appropriate persons if they are unable to resolve the issues.

Students should send emails to studentquestions@dcccd.edu

Faculty should send emails to adoptionissues@dcccd.edu.
